Below are the answers to the most frequently asked questions:

  • How is the retained search service accounted for?
    • On the basis of the expected upper bid for the candidate: 30% is charged as an advance at the beginning of the project, another 30% upon presentation of the so-called short list, i.e. 3 best-fit candidates, and the rest upon signing of the contract by the candidate.

  • Do you work on a success fee model?
    • No, we do not work in the success fee/contingency model.

  • Do you work only as an exclusive supplier?
    • We only work in an exclusive model, we do not work as one of several agencies.

  • What does exclusivity mean?
    • Exclusivity means that only we run the recruitment project and all candidates are selected by us.

  • Do we bear more risk in the retained search model?
    • In the retained model, the client pays an advance when starting a project. In return, they receive our full attention and commitment to complete the project. Isn't it a greater risk to entrust strategic recruitment to a traditional agency operating on success? A successful agency has no incentive to present selected candidates and will only invest a small amount of its time presenting the first best candidate or no candidate at all.

  • Is retained search faster than traditional agency?
    • The retained search model allows us to work with a small, narrowly targeted portfolio of assignments. We don't take on more assignments than we can handle with maximum commitment and attention on our part. We carry out a very detailed briefing before starting the search. All this makes the project is completed in a much shorter time than in the traditional agency model.

  • Is retained search more expensive than traditional agency?
    • Retained search service is more expensive than traditional recruitment. Firstly, it results from a much bigger time commitment on the part of the agency. Secondly, the price includes the price of our tools, which if purchased directly by the client would be much more expensive. However, taking into account the loss generated by bad hires (see our "bad hire calculator"), the retained search service significantly reduces the cost of recruitment.
